There are three ways to volunteer!

1. Volunteer as a tutor

At Fox Valley Literacy, we believe everyone deserves a chance to succeed. With 1 in 7 adults in Wisconsin struggling with basic literacy, we need passionate volunteer tutors to help empower our community through free classes in English and General Education. As a tutor, you’ll play a vital role in breaking the cycle of low literacy, helping individuals gain essential skills for better jobs and civic engagement. Your work can strengthen our community while also enhancing your own communication and leadership skills. Our tutors come from many social and professional backgrounds. No prior teaching experience is necessary. Learn More >

2. Volunteer to support our office

In addition to tutoring, Fox Valley Literacy offers various volunteer opportunities. You can help supervise children while students learn, provide transportation to lessons, assist with office tasks, or support community events. Your involvement is crucial in creating a welcoming environment for learners and their families. Every contribution, big or small, makes a significant impact on adults striving to improve their literacy skills. Learn More >

3. Volunteer to serve on our Board of Directors

If you’re passionate about improving literacy and building stronger communities, consider joining our all-volunteer board. Share your ideas and help shape the future of our programs. By becoming part of our leadership team, you’ll make a direct impact on the lives of those in our community. Ready to take the next step? Apply now and help us make a difference! Learn More >
