Executive Director
Brian Leone Tracy

Brian Leone-Tracy has served as the Executive Director of Fox Valley Literacy since 2019. He has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Illinois and a Master’s from the University of Southern California. He also served on Fox Valley Literacy’s Board of Directors, assuring a thorough understanding of the organization, its mission and its challenges to provide quality educational services without government funding.

Heather Chantelois-Kashal

Heather Chantelois-Kashal has a BA in International Studies and an MA in Conflict Resolution. She brings experience working on public health, education, and violence prevention and response to her work with Fox Valley Literacy. Having lived overseas and being in a mixed-origin family give Heather passion for creating communities that are accessible and empowering for people with diverse backgrounds and skills. At Fox Valley Literacy, Heather is focused on improving our current offerings, building new programs that meet the multifaceted needs and strengths of our students, and creating an organizational culture of joy, growth, and belonging. Heather speaks French and Kiswahili and can help with any programming questions and with student and tutor support.

Jim Weidert

Jim Weidert is a Wisconsin-born artist, graphic designer, creative marketing executive, and social entrepreneur. Most recently Jim has contributed to a variety of business and non-profit success stories as a creative brand design and marketing consultant. He also recently founded IntoWishin’ Arts, an e-commerce social venture with his 28-year-old son with intellectual disabilities who demonstrated interest and abilities in creative arts. Jim joined the team after a year and a half of tutoring students. During that time he was inspired by the important work being done and the wonderful people he met. He is very grateful to be working with Fox Valley Literacy, its mission, team, and dedicated students. His role includes tutor relationships, communications, and community partnerships.
Adult Literacy Program Manager
Verónica Zamudio

Veronica’s own experiences as an immigrant and as an English Language Learner inspired her to get involved with Fox Valley Literacy. She has always wanted to help people, and because of her first hand experience, she understands the struggles and needs of Fox Valley Literacy’s students. She is ready and excited to offer them support and an open ear. In her free time, Veronica loves to read thriller novels and spend time with her two adult children. She hopes to eventually go back to school and continue to advance her education. Veronica speaks Spanish and can help with student and tutor support.
Literacy Program Lead
Rita Moua

Rita Moua has a Bachelor of Science in Retailing and Consumer Behavior from the University of Wisconsin Madison. With several years of experience in sales, customer service, training, and management, Rita has worked in different industry sectors such as retail, manufacturing, and non-profit. As the Literacy Program Lead, Rita manages the newly created family literacy program which was implemented in 2023 and assists in other programs. She has a Hmong language teaching background and is designing a family literacy program where Hmong families have access to acquire how to read, write, and speak basic Hmong language skills as well as learn about the history and culture of the Hmong people. The family literacy program incorporates themes of positive family wellbeing, mental health practices and builds a strong sense of Hmong identity. Rita speaks Hmong and can help with student and tutor support.

Vered Meltzer

Vered Meltzer grew up in China and has first-hand insight into the challenges that accompany learning a new language, adapting to a new culture, and building community connections. His lifelong love of linguistics, and experience tutoring English learners since an early age, inspired him to get involved with Fox Valley Literacy. He has a B.A. in Philosophy from Lawrence University, class of 2004. He speaks Mandarin Chinese, as well as basic Spanish.

Deb Sewall

Deb Sewall is passionate about the impact of literacy. While pursuing her Bachelor of Science Degree Deb trained as a tutor with Dr Robert Nash who established Project Success at University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh, which is based on a structured, multi-sensory approach to language. Intent on being a positive change agent, Deb’s mission is to empower people of all ages and backgrounds. She enjoys physics, history, learning, and travel to spend time with her 2 adult children and their families in the U.S. and in Africa. She learns from and appreciates getting to know people from diverse cultures in South America, Europe, and Africa.
Adult Literacy Specialist
Lorena Zambrano

Lorena, is originally from Colombia, and her native language is Spanish, she has a Bachelor's degree in International Business Administration and Marketing, and she works part-time in the afternoons for the FVL and from home in a marketing position for a PA-based company. Lorena connects with tutors and students to check in on their progress and achievements, discuss their goals, and provide tools to help them improve their English skills as part of her work with Fox Valley Literacy. Besides, Lorena inspires students to keep learning and encourages them to use the available English applications and materials. Fox Valley Literacy's ability to discover someone who shares her career-focused English learning objectives and allows her to practice speaking French with French-speaking pupils astounds Lorena.
